Going to Jorhat with Ms. Laura Ross

2 May 2013

Just a quick shout out to my travel partner, Laura Ross, an excellent social studies teacher at Rockwood South Middle School, in Fenton, Missouri, which–according to her blog–is located at 38.527953 degrees N and 90.444195 degrees W. Hello from 26.23665 degrees N and 80.10844 degrees W, looking forward to going to 26.72050 degrees N and 94.18074 degrees E. (Guess I’ll be used to the latitude at least!)

(UPDATED 1 July): Here is the home page to Kendriya Vidyalaya Air Force Station Jorhat, where we’ll be in a couple of weeks. “Kendriya Vidyalaya” means “central school” or “federal school.” These are schools run by the federal government, not state or local governments, mainly for the purposes of educating the children of federal workers, although I believe that other children may apply to these schools. (If anything here needs to be corrected, I will do so!)
